Kirbys Growing Geometry Post

A rectangle had a width of 6 and a length of 14. How do you find the area??

A =L x W
=14 x 6
= 84

A triangle has a base of 5 and a height is 12. How do you find the area??

A = 1/2 x H x B
= 1/2 x 12 x 5
= 1/2 x 60
= 30

The relationship between a rectangle and a triangle is that a right angle triangle is half of a rectangle so the area would be half of the rectangle :)

oh yea and i tried to put in a picture but it didnt work
