1.) When expressing frations in lowest terms you have to make the smallest piece that you can.
6/12 divided by 6/6=1/2 or 6/12 are 1/2
are equivalent but 1/2 is the smallest piece possible. Lowest terms may also be called simplifying or reducing.

2.) A mixed number is a whole number and a fration.

A improper fraction is when the numerator has more parts than the denomenator.
5/4 thats improper
These are similar because both are still not a normal fraction. (i guessed here)

This site has anything you need to know about fractions. It tells you everything you need to know and it explains how to do them. This site can also be used for number 6, cause it tells you how to add and subtract fractions.



4.) a.) Bob was making a cake for his wife. He needed 3/4 cups of milk, 2/3 of eggs and 3/5 of flour. How much ingredenints did he have in total.
b.) Joe has ate 1 3/5 pieces of chocolate cake, then he ate 1 1/5 of ice cream cake. How much more of chocolate cake did Joe eat than he did ice cream cake.

4 a)3/4 + 2/3
denom=12 numerator=9+8
=17/12 which is improper
=1 5/12


b) 1 3/5 subtract by 1/5 gives you = 1 2/5
